Snowmobiling

This is without doubt one of Swedish Laplanders greatest outdoor activities to go snowmobiling (Skidduing). My first experience on a snow mobile was sensational, traversing up through forests, to open fresh virgin powder deep snow at speeds that were at first terrifying as I hung on to my driver. Once over the fear you escape into a world of speed that floats you across the wilderness.

Snowmobiles are environmentally friendly, and are not difficult to drive. You do not need to have driven one before, as your instructor will teach you how to operate the snowmobile safely. Then you can venture into the Arctic landscape at varying speeds on what is the most sensational winter activity I have ever participated in.

Note: Snowmobiles are not permitted on the roads, only off road. You must not drive one under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This is strictly forbidden and is punishable by Swedish law. Your instructor will assist you on the do's and don'ts.

After a trip on a snowmobile there is nothing greater than returning to Högbacka House for a warm drink, hot shower / bath, the meal and logfire in the lounge.
