Canoeing/Kayaking

The great asset of Sweden is the terrain. There is always a lake or river close by wherever you are, Norbotten is no exception. The Pite Alve river is 100 metres from the house, and there are spots to access the river along the sandy beach inlets. There is a law in Sweden which allows anyone to access land to get from one place to another so crossing your neighbours land opposite the dwelling to the river is easy.

Canoeing/Kayaking is very popular in the summer months. With long summer days up to 23.00 hrs in the evenings there can be no greater relaxation and stimulating exercise than to glide through the water by this ancient method of travel.

Högbacka House is ideal as a base camp for visiting Canoeing/Kayaking clubs and groups.
