Directions on how to get to Högbacka 21 Nystrand Near Älvsbyn Sweden
ROAD from Luleå airport to Nystrand.
If you pick up your car from Luleå airport, follow signs at exit point to E4 motorway to Luleå. Take Sundsvall exit E4. You need to pick up the 94 route to Älvsbyn about five minutes drive along E4. At a right hand exit from the E4 motorway that signposts to Älvsbyn. On arrival of the town of Älvsbyn, go through the centre, Turn right at the Polar Hotel Roundabout and follw the road (2KM) to the 'T' junction which indicates Nystrand. Turn right and Högbacka House is about six kilometres from this junction on the left handside. You will notice the yellow timber cladding of the building. Parking is available on the forecourt, covered, or in the garage. The journey time is approximately 45 minutes from Luleå Airport.
A good tip for food and supplies. If you are self catering is stop off on route in the centre of Älvsbyn atthe Co-operative supermarket. There are two supermarkets in town which sell everything you will require. Parking is outside and always available.

BY AIR / TRAIN from Stockholm to Älvsbyn.

BY AIR / ROAD from Luleå airport to Nystrand
You can travel from Stockholm Arlanda airport / Stockholm Nykopping Skavsta airport / Stockholm Vasteras airport by rented car from all major car hire centres. You may ask what driving is like in winter in Sweden. The Swedes cater for it with a law. On the 1st November to 1st May winter tyres must be fitted to the car. These tyres have metal studs which give grip to the roads. All major roads are open all year round as the snow plough system clears the majority of snow as soon as it lands from all major roads. Hired cars all have electric fans that plug in to the underside of the dash board when you leave the car parked. The external attached power line then connects to an electricity supply point in the parking bay. This keeps the engine and car interior warm whilst the car is parked. Ingenious !! If you pick up your car from any airport head for Luleå and the E4 motorway. From the E4 you need to pick up the 94 route to Älvsbyn. Turn right and Högbacka House is about six kilometres from this junction on the left handside. You will notice the yellow timber cladding of the building. Parking is available on the forecourt covered or in the garage. The garage has internally and externally electric points for keeping the engine and interior warm. If you are arriving in Summer you will not need the electric heating points for the safety of your vehicle. If you arrive in the winter it is recommended the vehicle is parked in the garage with the heating element in place in the front bumper bar. (NOT THE FAN INTERIOR).
